The Moment is Over Before It Gets Started
There's something missing from The Moment. The premise, developed from Charli xcx's very own noggin, is postured as a music industry satire. Shallow corporate partnerships and detrimental miscommunications ultimately orchestrate the downfall of Brat Summer as the fictional Charli folds under pressure from her label, her peers, and the overbearing film director Johannes Godwin (Alexander Skarsgård) despite having already established a distinct tone for her breakout album.

Sam Raimi's return to an original screenplay sits somewhere between Ready or Not (2019) and Blink Twice (2024) on the elevated horror lunch table. Troupes of the elevated subgenre -- most notably the social commentary and the slasher smile -- are sewn together with Raimi's recognisable comic book style cinematography to produce something entertaining, enjoyable, but a little overdone.
Gen V Season 2 Redeems The Boys Season 4
The Boys season 4 almost put me off watching Gen V season 2 entirely. Everyone's aware that The Boys toes the line with dark humour. There's something incredibly watchable about the weird, kinky superhero shags that are sprayed across the series.
Summer of Horror: Bring Her Back, Weapons, & Together
The horror of this summer has been of high quality. Mostly. Weapons has triumphed with critics and audiences, and Bring Her Back has introduced a school of fantastic young actors to a mainstream audience. There has, however, been disappointments.
